I am Elise Ringo, a native of the Pacific Northwest and current denizen of New York City. This blog is for putting my English degree to good use by writing about the things that I love most. My undergraduate thesis was written on apocalypse in The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien and I also periodically contribute writing to Tor.com.

This blog will be primarily for critical analysis of popular media, including superhero comics and genre fiction. I will also post book reviews and commentary on fandom and fan culture, with an emphasis on feminism as it interacts with those communities.
